New Zealand Honey is recognised as the purest honey in the world. Our climate and pristine environment contribute to ideal conditions for the bees to forage our native bush and produce 100 Percent Pure New Zealand Honey. We would not be able to produce this wonderful honey without the work of the honey bee (apis mellifera). In a modern world where insecticides and chemicals are used freely to protect crops and pastures, these artificial inputs can threaten the very existance of the honey bee. Recent media coverage in the USA suggests a link between heavy use of agri-chemicals on the land and the recent collapse in hive populations throughout the USA. Known as Colony Collapse Disorder or CCD, scientists are frantically trying to pinpoint the exact cause...while the simple truth remains that again mankind is harming our environment more than ever before with the honey bee at real threat.

CCD is not something we have experienced in New Zealand and we can only hope that there is a proven link with chemicals. Then we can get on and continue to promote organic production methods in honey and ensure the survival of the honey bee and indeed our reputation in New Zealand for producing the purest honey in the world.
